Veridia Round 3: Hill Farm

Now that Elmet has moved out to live with Helenet, things on Hill farm have gotten shaken up before settling into new routines. It’s very quiet here this round. Jia is learning her toddler skills, Drustan is still a very studious and tidy lad, and poor Xiang has had to take over Elmet’s sheeply duties for the time being.




Xiang: Move back to my natal village, he says. Sheep-farming is easy, he says, you won’t have to do anything. Pfft.




Oh, and Mouse is still the best part of the household.
Mouse: You’re damn right.






Eisu still has baby fever, but Helenet is just here for a regular visit today.




Mostly because I’m still trying to make Drustan and Angus friends. It's not working.










Random Wolves: AROOOOOO, we hate this door!

Go away! Elmet doesn’t live here anymore!




Though he is back tonight...




...because it’s time for Drustan’s birthday! *sniff* My little babies are growing up.




Nice muscle. Drustan grew into a Knowledge sim (bet you didn’t see THAT coming) with a Romance secondary. Xiang looks so proud of his son. :)




Also, he’s adorable. Obviously I needed to give him some Disney prince hair.




Drustan’s best friend, Glamaer, comes over the next day to hang out, and he brought along his sister.




Oh???






Mouse: Meow?*

Drustan: I don’t think cats can eat sandwiches, Mouse.

Mouse: Meow!**

*“Food? Food for me? Food for Mouse? Food??”
** “Sure we can!”




I’m so intrigued to see what Jia looks like as she grows up.






I think Drustan regrets those attraction hearts. Gytha’s table manners (and other manners) leave something to be desired.







Xiang spent too much time working out in the autumn sun and earned himself some heat exhaustion for his trouble.

Drustan: Baba? You alright?

Eh, he’ll be fine. Just give him some gatorade and pop him in a cold shower.








Jia is perhaps the most doted upon toddler in all of Veridia.








It’s a nice autumn day, if a bit chilly, and Xiang and Drustan spend the afternoon fishing at the forest pond.




Though Xiang soon loses interest in that in favor of chatting with Fial. He can fish and hunt, but he prefers not to if it’s not necessary. In Veridia they can go to the butcher’s stall in the market to purchase meat if they want it.






Finally a hobby that Drustan and Angus both enjoy doing.








I don’t think Drustan’s attempts to charm Gytha are working.




Mouse, on the other hand, has captured her attention! Maybe try being adorable and funny like Mouse is, Drustan.






Spotted, at the well: Kinet being harassed by Redheaded Teen Townie, and Lucile waiting her turn to fight someone.

Lucile: Da taught me how to throw a punch. >:(




btw, I have been adding new townies as some of them marry into playable families. This is Brigid’s replacement, uhhh... I don’t remember her name. I like her hair.






Gráinne: Good job, Aífe!

Aífe: Thanks, Grandma!

Should I build a jail in Veridia? No, no, then we wouldn’t have any townies left.

I can’t believe it’s already Jia’s birthday!

I strongly considered installing a longer age mod for Veridia than what I usually use, but then I remembered how long it would take for sims to grow up with my usual multi-month breaks between playing. Since then I gave up and edited a copy of my usual mod to be longer. :') Because I'm too attached to these sims. That's why it may seem like sims are aging more slowly as we get further into the rounds.




Angus is THRILLED to be here. Don’t worry, next round you get to have a birthday too, Angus! And I’ll let you have cake this time!




Jia continues to mostly take after her da. Did the spirits just clone Eisu? Possibly.








The evening turns into a fun family get together.




But after everyone has gone to bed, someone uninvited crept into the house.




You stole the fucking WOOD BEAM? I had to use snapobjectstogrid false to place that! You monster!






The disturbance wakes Xiang, but he’s too late to stop the thief from stealing... part of the house, I guess. He’s going to have to bring this up to Norweni tomorrow; they cannot have a thief running around the village, breaking into people’s houses.




I already replaced it, go back to bed.






Jia: Nyoom! Take that, blockade! We have the power of flying horses!




New baby pending?




Norweni: Aífe.

Aífe: But he’s a jerk—

Norweni: I don’t care, stop picking fights.










Drustan brought Jia to visit the market, where Angus has been forced to play tag with her. :( Having friends to play with is such a hardship.




Jia: Angus, I think I’m going to make you my best friend.

Angus: Oh no.

She never did, btw. So Angus escaped that fate, at least.




Kinet hasn’t quite inherited Norweni’s social aptitude yet.






Jia: Drustan, watch this, watch!

Drustan: Booooo!

Jia: That’s not how it was supposed to happen. :(




This is another one of my new townies I don’t remember the name of, Gede. He’s very pretty.






Jia: Angus says that in his mother’s village if you lose a baby tooth and put it under your pillow, the spirits will change it when you sleep for a little treat or flower. D'you think it works if you pull out a tooth or only if you lose it?

Xiang: ...I think you are too clever and crafty for me and your da. *sigh* Please do not pull out your teeth unnecessarily.




Helenet has agreed to come watch Jia for a little while during Samhain so that Eisu and Xiang can visit the cave shrine to present their offering.






It’s important to pay respects to the spirits, especially when you’ve been as lucky as Eisu. He's still not going in that cave alone, though.








Helenet brought Uncle Doggy with her. (Jia insists she’s too grown up to use such a childish nickname now, but Elmet still thinks it’s hilarious.)






That’s all this fall from the Hill household! Apparently Elmet was carrying all of the drama here. Next round there should be a new baby, and perhaps some teen drama from Drustan? Maybe? Don’t let me down, Drustan!
