One nice thing about DW over tumblr is that I can post nicely resized pictures of my Stardew Valley game here. To get them looking good on tumblr, I have to crop them and resize them super tiny and do some weird sharpening and on and on and on and









After playing the game enough to get all the steam achievements, I've started building farms around specific goals or 'careers'. This one started out as fishing-oriented but now makes jams, pickles, and wine, and I'm also working toward getting enough gold to buy the Gold Clock. I forget if it's on year 4 or 5 now, but Farmer Rosie is up to 6 million gold, so it probably won't be long. And then I'll abandon it. :')



Latest summer harvest. It's so satisfying to see a bunch of plots ready to be harvested at once.



In between making that money money money, I Rosie does things like fill her entire grange display with fish (and Willy is right, Mayor Lewis was not a fan).



He also wasn't a fan of these boxer shorts elegantly framed by two ripe purple eggplant, but you know what, that's the risk you run when you ask a near stranger to retrieve your underwear from your secret lover's bedroom.

This game, I love it. Your farm is lovely. I really like how you set everything up -- looks very neat and efficient. Also lol the purple boxers. (And I want Marlon to grab Marnie away from doofy Lewis and show her endless adventure.)

Have you seen Ace's MTN farm maps on Nexus? So many more maps to try...

I just went and found them now and oh my gosh, that island map! I'm definitely saving that for my next farm.
On my newest farm I'm playing on the standard version of this map, which I switched real quick to a content patcher version; it's very pretty and I'm slowly turning it into a vineyard (and truffle farm, because why not).

I also notice that you married Haley this time. That rocks. She gets such an unfairly bad rap in the community, which tends to completely ignore her character arc.

I like that map you linked a lot; it's one I keep thinking about playing. I asked my husband to choose one of Ace's maps for me to try for a new game (I get bored quickly after finishing the community center), and he chose a humongous one. It's -- uh -- huge. It's a fun challenge, but I can safely say I am never playing a map this big again. And next time I start a new farm, I'm finding a tiny map for it.

If I had a dime for every time I've seen Haley called bitchy, I could probably go buy myself a nice pastry. It's usually that or, like, she's an airhead, because... she's feminine and likes clothes and makeup, I guess. She's a pretty sweet, sentimental character at the end of her arc. Also, I feel like she cooks more than the other spouses, which is kinda nice, haha.

On a side note, I married Maru on another farm and she is so underrated. She has some great lines, including one about how Demetrius has been tracking weather patterns in the valley and has found some "disturbing patterns". Like, tell me more about climate change in the Ferngill Republic, Maru, I need to know!

Ooooh, have fun, haha. I don't think I could do anything bigger than the default farm. Do you use the tractor mod? That one would be a must for me on a really big farm.

And Alex doesn't get half the grief. But Haley talks about how she's going to give away clothing, while Alex specifically talks about throwing away shoes with a smudge on them because he doesn't want someone he might not approve of getting to wear them. He grows too, but still -- ugh.

Maru is extremely awesome. She's on my list of marriage candidates. Unlike her brother, who reminds me of my first boyfriend, combining a certain brand of geekiness with a superiority complex the size of Jupiter.

I want someone to mod Sam to make him more interesting, because he's the only one besides Sebastian who's off my list right now. Well, and Emily. Because that's my name, and also her "I'm responsible for everyone else's feelings" complex... I don't want to marry myself :P.

I do not have the tractor mod, but I do have a mod that lets me harvest with a scythe. Plus the "Tool Geode" mod, which lets you put gems in your tools to make them cover a wider area. Right now though, I'm not farming any more land than I would on a regular map. Once it gets to a point where I can afford to, I should have sprinklers nearly everywhere, so harvesting will be the main thing. My biggest problem is trying to conceptualize a space that huge. Cheating myself lots of fencing and roads to divide things up helped.
