Veridia Round 3: Seax
Prev | Next

Look, all it took for Norweni and Diseta to hold their children is to move them out entirely.

Norweni, Diseta, and the children have moved out to their own house, leaving the farm in Norweni's sister's capable hands. The new hall basically has the same design as Seax Farm and Eisu’s house, with the lofted bedroom and a few rooms off to the side. What can I say, it just works. There’s a workspace out back for Diseta.

You might be wondering who that is in the family portrait. New to Veridia is Enna of Evervale, who has come to work for Norweni keeping house and taking care of the children. Enna thinks it’s a great deal; she has to do less laundry and cooking than at home, and she gets paid for it, AND she gets time off? Amazing.
(Fortune/Family, 4/10/4/4/3)

Don’t worry y'all, Enna has help with all the babies: Faun, apparently.

You have the flu. GO HOME.

Enna usually has a few hours in the afternoon to spend as she pleases, since Norweni and Diseta are typically both home then. She decided to visit the market first and start meeting her new neighbors, like Aífe here (Norweni’s future niece-in-law).

Some of Norweni’s friends have come to see the new hall, though Eisu immediately wanders off to play with the archery target.

Helenet: Um, you know, it’s bad for your digestion to eat so quickly. You swallow air and it messes with the body’s balance.
Enna: Yeah, but you try eating slowly growing up with seven other kids at the table.
Helenet: Oh, yes, you have a point there.

Diseta goes to open the smith the next morning, where Eithne simply CANNOT find the pile of horseshoes on the table to her left.

Here for more nails?
Gytha: Noooo...

Stashing those Sun & Moon fruits in sims’ inventories is really convenient; Diseta can have a quick snack when she gets hungry around noon without having to go home.

I think Norweni might actually be financing the smithy.

Enna meets Glamaer Salter at the mead hall and immediately likes the look of him. Even better, he seems to be the son of a local merchant?

She also meets his sister, Gytha--
Enna: Yes, I just moved here, from Evervale. I’m working for Headwoman Norweni.
Gytha: You moved from Evervale to Veridia? Really? What ever for?
Enna: Well, Norweni offered to pay me better than where I was working. And it’s better than taking care of my siblings in a cramped little house back home.

Gytha: How many siblings do you have?
Enna: Seven younger brothers.
Gytha: Seven brothers! You poor girl.

Enna thinks Gytha might be her first new friend in Veridia.

Go home, Glamaer, you’re drunk. What a great first impression.

Evenings here are fairly quiet, considering they’ve got three babies around.

Cute.

Norweni: ...and she goes, it was this big!
Eisu: Ha!
Secret (?) fun fact about Norweni is that she actually loves dirty jokes.

So what are you two talking about?
Enna: Nothing.
Gytha: Secrets.

It’s birthday time for Sun!

No one invited you. You walked onto the lot and stayed all by yourself.

Anyway, here’s child-sized Sun. Norweni is very proud of her.

Enna has to go to the market to stock up and steals a moment to dance with Glamaer.

Glamaer, noooo, what about Lucile?

Oh, she’s across the market being harassed by his step-mother.

Diseta doesn’t have much time for her... lute? I think that’s a lute. She doesn’t have much time for it lately, between the smithy and all the children, but she picks it up when she can.

Senovara and Cináed also grew up. Thank god, I was worried this lot didn’t have enough toddlers crawling around anymore.

Finally made Norweni put on sleeves for winter, because she was making me feel cold looking at her.

Norweni and Diseta are both home today, so there’s a lot of toddler skilling going on.

Enna opts to spend her time off at the mead hall, meeting Glamaer again.
Enna: Is it always this cold so early here?
Glamaer: Oh, yeah, this is nothing. Da says it tends to be colder here in winter than on other parts of the coast. Something about the valley, I think?

Enna: Maybe you could get me a cup of cider to warm me up?
Glamaer: I can do that!

Gytha and Shep’s friendship is really cute to me. (❁´◡`❁)

So this is happening. Enna is positively charmed.

Faun: ???
Sun: Teehee!

The rivalry over Faun’s blanket is still ongoing, btw. The cat usually wins.

Enna returned home in time to prepare dinner for Norweni’s Samhain party.
Everyone: Shep Shep Shep
Shep: I am pretty cool. :)

Sun is excited to get to stay up for the party!

And I didn’t see Eisu or Dinn anywhere for a minute.
Dinn: Wow, that looks like fun!

Norweni: ...What are you two doing?
Eisu and Dinn: Nothing!
Norweni: Uh-huh.

Thanks, I love you putting that next to the flammable wooden structure.

After everyone has gone to bed, one of the many Veridian wolves attacked Faun, but he won, and celebrated with a bit of playtime with Lu. Maybe he and Lu are finally making friends?

And here, too, winter is settling in.
