Today’s offering is seven recolors of some of WoodForSims’ Big Barn Set, repositoried by Hafiseazale, specifically the windows, doors and arches, and columns. I simply do not use the other items in the set, sorry. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

however, I renamed my copies of the meshes to update the naming convention from master/slave to main/repo. Please ensure you are not adding duplicates of the meshes to your downloads folder. Nothing bad will happen if you do except that you’ll have duplicates and the game will have to read twice as many files unnecessarily.
did you ever notice that the frames of the small window/doors/arches aren’t fully symmetrical? I just did and will never unsee it now.

Jia stood outside the hall and steeled herself. She hoped she was right that Sun wasn't home, and hoped that Aunt Wenna hadn't changed her usual routine recently.

She had been studiously avoiding their hall—she no longer had a reason to visit at all, really—but Xiuying had been, with great coaxing and wheedling on Jia's part, reporting any news that Senovara passed to her. And Xiuying said that Senovara said that Sun and the prince wouldn't have their wedding in Veridia, but somewhere his family could easily attend, perhaps in Evervale or off at Acornhill. The place mattered less to Jia's plans than who was attending.

Accessory mittens in a variety of Aelia Eco and Shadowfell shades. These were made using MidgeTheTree's unlocked Seasons mittens, which means they don't require a mesh but do require the Seasons EP.

sometimes sims' hands clip through a little; that's the meshes, can't do much about it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Veridia Round 8: Family Portraits

I decided to do these at the end of each winter. :) Also, fair warning, this post got lonnnnng.

Right before I made the last set of family portraits, I made the mistake of calling Norweni and her wife drama-free, and then next round Norweni immediately blew up her relationship by falling for then-newcomer Maddan of Wyll. Diseta divorced her and moved out of the household. Since then, Norweni has stumbled her way through a few situationships and may or may not still be pining for her ex-wife.

At her old friend Vee's request, Norweni brought Prince Cadwgan to foster in Veridia in hopes he would lose interest in joining the Watcher's priesthood. Cadwgan and Sun had an enemies-to-lovers speedrun; Sun is pregnant with their 'surprise' baby, and they are betrothed and impatiently awaiting their wedding.

Senovara and Cináed are both teenagers and pushing boundaries in their own ways. Senna lives full-time with Norweni, as she dislikes both the disruption of moving and the noise of the smithy. Cináed has been roped into helping Diseta at the smithy and will likely start living with her full-time as well in the spring.

As for the pets, Faun died peacefully of old age, and Norweni adopted wolf-dog Grendal from Elmet Hill.

CC: Shadowfell Viking Tunics on Silvain's Alpha Tunic

Today’s offering: those Shadowfell top-only viking tunic recolors for TF, AF, and EF sims, pasted and scrambled a bit onto Silvain’s edit of Tig’s alpha tunic and Meduza’s EF conversion. I borrowed the idea from Fire_flower, who put IAmLiz’s original viking tunics on the same mesh.

Same 23 recolors as the male versions. Today’s models, from left to right, are wearing 9, 20, and 3.

For bottoms, I like these and these trousers, both also made by Fire_flower.

TF, AF, EF, but:
I have included two versions of AF, one that’s just AF and one that’s enabled for AF/EF, because the teen and adult tunics match the androgyny bodyshape and Meduza’s matches the default EF bodyshape. Choose only one set of AF files.

CC: Shadowfell Recolors of Simborg/IAmLiz's Top-Only Viking Tunic

This has been on my list for ages: Shadowfell recolors of Simborg's top-only version of IAmLiz's viking tunic. I used Lothere's gorgeous recolors of the original mesh as my base.

These come in the same 20 colors as those Ladies of the Dark Ages dresses I did, layered over a mix of dyed and undyed long-sleeved tunics—buuuuuut I made two versions of a few tops (7, 15, 19), so there are actually 23 recolors. Today's unwilling models are wearing (from L-R) 13, 8, 15, and 14.

Some tunics feature the brooch from Lothere's set, some have random brooches from my texture collection, and some use a plain belt from IAmLiz's original outfits. I typically use these, these, or these pants with them.

Veridia Round 8: Wyll

On one of her recent her walks about the village, Orla happened to encounter an injured fox near the woods. It was trivially easy to lure the hungry creature over with the hard-boiled egg she'd tucked in her bag for lunch and then heal its hurt leg.

And then she keeps seeing the fox, and it's so runty and hungry-looking that of course she has to keep tossing it bits of dried meat or slices from the last of the year's fresh apples.

CC: Tidy (Cynnix's Wide Sleeve Amaryll dress recolored)

A tidy belted dress for your F sims, featuring tablet weave embroidery on the neckline. Some of them are a pattern I copied off a free tablet weave pattern from ??? I don’t remember, unfortunately; the rest were repurposed from the belts on @tipsypixel-sims’ Ladies of the Dark Ages II outfit.

As far as historical accuracy goes, I think these are closest to Anglo-Saxon gowns, probably around the middle period of Anglo-Saxon England. Damn, if I could mesh, I would so make beaded brooches like the gorgeous ones the women in that picture halfway down the page are wearing.

It’s finally Diseta's round! I started playing this one so long ago that the first screenshots are from December. :') In fact, the first few screenshots are pre-Linux.

Most important update of all: Diseta has a new cat, one of Daisy's kittens. She's named him Salmon, after his silvery color but also because I think it goes well with Salmon's father Mouse's name.

I was asked about an updated map, and how could I say no?

It took me like three tries to move the fairies’ lot where it’s supposed to be. Luwin’s Peak is an actual lot that’s supposed to be, like, a training camp for the local warriors, but I’ve never used it in game. And the hill road is the only easy way in or out of Veridia unless you have a boat or are good at rock-climbing.

katatty asked me a question about Cadwgan and his priestly desires, and I was like, what if I write 1800+ words about this?

A quick note to reduce confusion: Veridia is the name of the village; Abona is the kingdom it belongs to; Abona is a part of Avalon, which is an island blatantly copying Great Britain. All of this was inspired by a mix of Anglo-Saxon kingdoms and pre-Roman tribes.
