Veridia Round 6: Farseer

None of the households are going to be played in order this round and I'm just accepting that at this point.



Anyway. River has moved out on their own. I probably should've left them with Orla and Maddan, but that house is small and also they probably wouldn't have gotten any focus this round with the drama that those two have going on. And wouldn't you know it, I forgot to roll a ROS for them until after I finished playing. 🙃








Drustan, I'm gonna lock you in one of the damn caves at this rate.




River has planted a new garden at their cottage. Working outside with the plants is good for their nerves; very soothing.






Also, River is very sociable for a sim with two outgoing points. Throw a party this, want to go on an outing that and so on.






Just a friendly backrub between gal pals! Do we think Sun has noticed Jia is flirting with her yet, or has she inherited Norweni's obliviousness? I'm starting to think it's the latter.






Speaking of Norweni, she's also at the market today and getting shoved around by Shep. Shep, girl, chill a little bit, okay?




Norweni: Shep. I'm going to do you a favor once and assume you've been drinking, and tell you to go home and sleep it off. Got it?




Brigid swooped in immediately afterward to compliment Norweni, lol. This is not at all an obvious attempt to suck up to her.








Oh, yeah, we're supposed to be following River, not Seax family drama.

Anyway, River has slowly been making friends with people in the village, like their new neighbors, Helenet and Elmet, or Gede here, who they met at the summer festival. Gede is a very cheerful and smiley man!

River: It's colder here than back home, right? I'm not just imagining it?

Myr: Definitely. I mean, it snowed just a few months ago. That's too much winter.










River didn't talk to Myr much before now, but she turns out to be easy to get along with. Sort of like Orla, except where Orla drags you along in her excitement, Myr is laid back. So maybe not that much like Orla after all.

(Also, Myr thinks Maddan is a dick, so she must have good sense.)




Myr is becoming the most sought after bachelorette in town. It's too bad you didn't show those heart bubbles before, Norweni. I bet Diseta probably could've been talked into dating Myr with you, but instead you went for The Worst Man Alive.






Behold: one of our alleged witches actually performing magic. River actually spends a lot of time studying with their grimoire, I just don't take pictures of it because it's boring.

I wish there were more practical spells for AL witches. My sims would get a lot of mileage out of cleaning spells, or, like, a mini rainstorm to automatically water plants.




They also have this little set up by the pond, because I thought meditating here might look like water scrying or something. I like the funky arm movements.




Soon after their chat at the mead hall, Myr drops by to share lunch and play a game or two of riverstones with River. She talks about how she's been working with one of the local merchants, Elphin Kinsfader, while she plans and saves to start her own business.

Myr: You know, you're alright, especially for a witch. I mean, not because you're a witch, but, y'know, part of one of the lines.

River: Uh... I'd ask if I should be offended, but I know some of the families like to stick their noses where they aren't wanted sometimes.








River shares a bit about their and Derelei's brief relationship. Not too much, they want to respect her privacy even if things ended poorly, but a bit.




Myr: So this person was in love with you and you were... overwhelmed, let's say?

River: Yeah, I suppose that's right. She's kind of... wholehearted? Intense? Which isn't a bad thing, don't get me wrong, but it's not right for me. It felt like... a lot.

Myr: You like to take things slowly, huh?

River: I think so. To be honest, I didn't date a lot before leaving Wyll.






Well, they're getting plenty of practice now! Despite having more chemistry with Derelei, River has rolled waaaaay more wants for Myr already. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is too many goddamn wolves, Elmet.








Orla finally found time to come visit River's new cottage.




Orla: That's so nice! I like Myr. She always seems like she knows what she's doing.

River: And we don't?

Orla: Do you ever know what you're doing?

River: Er, no, actually.




I missed what the rest of this gossip was, so I'm going to assume River is reminding Orla a few more times that she could totally just divorce her husband instead of them dating other people and pretending it's a secret.






River and their two whole outgoing points still wanted to throw a party, so they're having a little get-together with some old and new acquaintances.






Again, Myr is truly the most sought after woman in Veridia. She seems to enjoy it (she is a Romance secondary, after all), so good for her.




*deep sigh*










Aww, I like Gede, he seems like a good egg. Even if I keep accidentally writing his name as Bede, like Bede the Venerable. Maybe Derelei will become more interested in him.






I thought for a moment here that she might like Wulfraed, but alas.




Also, I would like everyone to know that out of all the sims River has chemistry with, the sim with the most is Brigid, which just goes to show that chemistry bolts aren't everything.

Helenet: Oh, don't you growl at me! That's right, hush.




New Random Wolf convinced Helenet to play fetch and she pulled the trick of hiding the stick, which I'd never seen her do before! I guess she's still annoyed by New Random Wolf growling at her, lol.






River is making fast friends with Helenet and Elmet, which is good, since they're the closest neighbors. Keep those hearts in that thought bubble, Helenet, I'm not sure River is quite up to becoming part of the magical poly forest creature relationship network yet.




Spotted, at the mead hall: Gytha and Enna spending time together. This is another Veridian friendship that I really love, they just seem so supportive of each other.










I'm not sure this is taking things slow, friend.






Myr ends up spending the night with River after their date. 👀

This is a cute relationship, but I'm not sure if it'll work out long term? Because remember, Myr brought family with her to Veridia (her grandmother and brother), and I'm not sure River is ready to have the quiet of their new cottage immediately turned into a bustling family home.




We'll leave them contemplating that (and how nice kissing Myr was) as autumn arrives here.
